My head is still spinning from the
fabulous meeting we had in Las Vegas on
September 19, 2008. The officers and
committee members who were able to
attend addressed all the issues on the
agenda and believe me there was a lot of
heavy lifting. I extend my deepest
gratitude to Joan LeMere, who was
gracious enough to host the event in her
home. I am also grateful for those
members who made the trip to Las
Vegas to insure the success of the
meeting. Nevada Women's History Project is rich in leaders who are willing
to set aside their time and resources to
advance the mission of NWHP. We are truly blessed to have so many
committed and professional women
guiding our efforts.
Members will appreciate that we
made great strides to insure our
organization will continue to be united
statewide. Issues addressed at the
meeting involved the state of several
projects both North and South which are very exciting. We are also
looking at up-dating our guidelines
and our membership pamphlet. If
anyone has a question or
suggestion, please notify your
region's leadership team. As for
me, I can't wait for our next State
Board Meeting.
It is my preference that Nevada
Women's History Project be an
inclusive organization. Every
person who has made the
commitment to join our group is a
valuable asset. I believe each voice
should be heard and all meetings should be open to all members
who wish to attend and observe or
lend input to our successes in the
future.
