NWHP · September 10, 2025 ·

Marcia Cuccaro

2025 NWHP Woman of Achievement Recipient

A twenty-year member of the Nevada Women’s History Project, Marcia Cuccaro, was honored at the Nevada Women’s Fund Salute to Women of Achievement on May 22, 2025.

Marcia is a descendant of Nevada’s pioneers, resides in Carson City, and has
been a secretary for the Nevada Women’s History Project for a long time. Marcia is a former Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Claims Manager and Grants Department Chief for agencies within the State of Nevada. After retirement she has focused her energy on making women’s accomplishments visible through her involvement with NWHP. As a Board Member she has written over thirty biographies of women who have contributed to Nevada’s history.

The theme of the Nevada Women’s Fund Salute to Women of Achievement luncheon was “Empower and Elevate”. Over 1400 people attended the luncheon with 75 women honored for their contributions to Nevada communities. The keynote speaker for the event was Jill Kracov Zinckgraf who is the Interim Executive Director of the National Women’s History Alliance. Ms. Zinckgraf’s keynote speech highlighted the contributions of women throughout history. NWHP board member, Mona Reno, was instrumental in
recruiting Jill to be the keynote speaker. Nevada Women’s Fund President, Ila Friendenthal, invited a few members of the NWHP board to have dinner with Jill the night before.

Attending the celebration of Marcia’s award was Shannon Hataway, Sue Davis, Patti Bernard, Mona Reno, Catherine Cucarro, Jeff Milligan, Barbara Finley, Kathy Noneman, Candy Baldi, and Sandy Baldi.
